New Mexico is home to 3 species of quail, mostly scaled gambels and mearns, and I love seeing my dogs hold down those little road runners. I've had the privilege of hunting with a friend out there who has guided for more than 30 years around New Mexico and who gave me some tricks and inside tips on how to get the drop on the pesky little birds. This is a desert hunt so it's certainly different from the bobwhite. Come prepared.
